After graduation, she moved to Los Angeles to attend the University of Southern California dental school, where she met and later married Dr. Jungman. Dr. Robert Jungman
As the oldest son of Drs. Randy Jungman & Julie Kangas, Dr. Robert Jungman proudly tells patients he was “bred to do dentistry”. At an early age, he loved working with his hands, and he is very detail-oriented. Dentistry seemed like a natural fit for him, and he began pursuing it from high school.
An Escondido native (local elementary schools & San Pasqual High School), Dr. Robert returned home after attending UCSD for his bachelor’s degree and UCLA School of Dentistry for his doctorate. He pursued additional education at UCLA for another year, with training and experience in implants and complex cases. He currently lives in Escondido with his wife, Angela, and Piper, their golden retriever.
Dr. Robert boasts one of his biggest accomplishments as being a “perpetual student” and is pursuing a Mastership credential in the Academy of General Dentistry. He spends his free time browsing dental forums and enjoys almost every aspect of general dentistry (with a special emphasis in implant-related care). He is very active in the outdoors, enjoying skiing, backpacking, scuba diving, and skydiving on the weekends. You can find him rocking out in the car to EDM music when no one’s looking!
“Dentistry is an ever-evolving field, and I love keeping up with the latest advancements. Technology is my thing! I also appreciate tailoring the dentistry to match the patient’s specific needs. The more you can tell me about your situation, the more I can help! Looking at the entire patient scenario allows me to work with you to provide specific short- or long-term solutions to keep you smiling for years to come. 🙂
Dr. Anna Hsu
Dr. Hsu strives to provide the highest quality of care and has been described as honest, caring, and positive with all of her patients. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her son and husband, a pediatric dentist.
Dr. Nick Jungman
Dr. Nick Jungman, third son of Drs. Randy Jungman and Julie Kangas, and younger brother to Dr. Robert Jungman, is very proud to join the family business. Having grown up in Escondido a few years after his brother, he also attended San Pasqual High School, received a BS in Biochemistry at CSU San Marcos, and then earned his DDS degree at USC, following in his parents’ footsteps. Dr. Nick chose to study for another year in Santa Barbara, CA at his Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency, where he learned advanced techniques and much more hands-on training on how the pros do it!
Nick enjoys constantly learning more about dentistry and is happy to work with all ages. He really enjoys working with younger patients as he likes to educate on preventive care and creating a friendly, welcoming dental environment as early as possible, to keep the dental office a place of continuous health.
Education is especially important to him on both sides of the dental chair as he teaches not only his patients, but dental students as well from USC, during biannual dental mission trips to areas of need. Ayuda International has been a big part of his life since he joined in 2015. During his time at USC, he attended every Saturday opportunity (about once per month) to help residents of LA in real need of dentistry. Even though he moved away, he still looks forward to his annual winter trip to Rosarito, Mexico and his springtime trip overseas. He has joined Ayuda in traveling to Thailand, India, and Panama, and uses his bilingual (Spanish) skills frequently.
Dr. Nick loves all things Disney, Marvel, Harry Potter, and lots of other interests, and he has been caught singing and dancing from time to time in the office! While he knows there’s a place and time to be serious, he likes to incorporate fun where he can to keep things lighthearted and friendly.
