Dr. Jungman is a San Diego County native and a graduate of San Diego State University.  A second-generation dentist, he graduated from USC Dental school, and searched for his ideal community to live, practice dentistry and raise a family.  Selecting Escondido, he and his wife and dental partner, Dr. Julie Kangas, chose the name Citracado Dental as it pays tribute to our agricultural heritage.

Dr. Jungman’s professional involvement includes volunteering at the UCSD student run dental clinics. He participated in 2 missions to the south pacific on the USNS Mercy hospital ship, providing humanitarian aid in the South Pacific. He mentors pre-dental students at all the universities in San Diego County and serves as the professional pre-dental advisor for CSUSM.  Dr. Jungman is also the consulting dentist for the Escondido and San Marcos senior centers. His recent dental continuing education focus includes sleep apnea disorders as well as the connections between oral and systemic health.  He has been nationally recognized as an Inaugural Fellow in the American Academy of Oral & Systemic Health. 

Dr. Jungman loves dentistry and believes there is no profession better suited for him.  The personal interactions with patients and our community, and the science and medicine of dentistry are a natural fit.  Dr. Jungman truly enjoys connecting with and treating his patients as friends and family, ensuring that the dental care they receive is what is ideal for each individual. 

Dr. Jungman has volunteered in community service all of his adult life.   He has been a member of the boards of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego and the Boy Scouts of America.  Volunteering in many positions in these and other organizations, he has received the city of Escondido’s Service to Youth award as well as others.  He and Citracado Dental Group have sponsored the BSA Cub Scout Pack 659 in Escondido for many years.    

Dr. Jungman’s hobbies include travel, wood building, hunting, fishing, and collecting antique memorabilia about San Diego.  He is passionate about mentoring young people on their future goals and believes in investing time in youth whenever the opportunity arises.  

Dr. Jungman and Dr. Kangas are the parents of four sons. Robert and Nicolaus are dentists with Citracado, and the other two are in engineering and software development. As parents, they are happy that all of them live here in Escondido, along with two granddaughters and daughters in law.

Dr. Julie E. Kangas grew up in Idaho, and graduated from Boise State University with a BS in Health Science. After graduation, she moved to Los Angeles to attend the University of Southern California dental school, where she met and later married Dr. Jungman. Dr. Jungman and Dr. Kangas explored many areas of California in deciding where to establish their dental careers and chose Escondido to establish a family dental practice.

Dr. Kangas has enjoyed specializing in cosmetic dentistry and dental care for anxious patients for over 25 years. She has also been a certified Invisalign orthodontic provider for over fifteen years. Her primary area of interest is in the expanding science connecting oral and systemic health. Dr. Kangas attended the Preceptorship program for heart attack and stroke prevention. As a member of the American Academy of Oral and Systemic Health, she was recognized for her advanced education as one of only 30 dentists nationwide to receive an Inaugural Fellow award by the 

academy. Dr. Kangas loves to assist patients in improving their self-image and quality of life through optimal oral health. She is passionate about preventive health care and helping anxious dental patients conquer their dental fears.

Dr. Kangas served as a founding member and former president of the Escondido chapter of the American Business Women’s Associations (ABWA). In 2008, she was selected American Business Woman of the Year by the ABWA national organization. Locally, she is actively involved with the Greater Escondido Chamber of Commerce, as an Ambassador, and Chamber board member. Dr. Jungman and Dr. Kangas are the first husband and wife dentists inducted into the American Academy of Dental Practice, and are active in many community programs such as Community in Unity and as supporters of Cub Scout Pack 659.

Dr. Kangas and Dr. Jungman are proud to be the parents of four adult sons, two of whom are dentists. She enjoys skiing, travel, reading, and is an avid  player of Scrabble and all word games.  She loves Boise State football and is a host of the San Diego BSU Bronco fan club.

Dr. Robert Jungman earned his bachelor’s degree at UC San Diego and DDS degree at UCLA.  He pursued an additional 1-year Advanced Education program in General Dentistry at UCLA, exposing him to more advanced techniques and procedures in all aspects of dentistry, including implants and complex rehabilitation cases.  He has been in practice at Citracado since 2012 and offers a wide range of general dentistry procedures, with a special focus on dental implants and patients with more complex needs. These can include those with missing teeth, cosmetic changes, unique dental problems, and patients needing multiple crowns.  He is an avid user of modern dental technology and pursues well over 100 hours every year of continuing dental education, which has earned him the Mastership Award in the Academy of General Dentistry (achieved by less than 2% of all dentists).

As the son of two dentists (Drs. Randy Jungman and Julie Kangas), I knew at a young age that I wanted to go into dentistry. I tell patients all the time that I wouldn’t trade it for anything! My wife Angela is an Escondido native like myself, and we have 2 young girls- Zoe and Rae.  You can see their photo in the office lobby. If we’re lucky, one of them may follow in the family footsteps and be a 4th generation dentist! Outside the office, I enjoy spending time with our dog, Piper, and I love outdoor sports, including skiing, skydiving, and scuba diving.  I travel a lot with family when I’m not busy attending CE courses and furthering my dental education!

Dr. Nick Jungman, third son of Drs. Randy Jungman and Julie Kangas, and younger brother to Dr. Robert Jungman, is proud to join the family business. He attended San Pasqual High School in Escondido and received a BS in Biochemistry at CSU San Marcos. He then attended The University of Southern California in Los Angeles for his DDS degree, following in his parents’ footsteps.

Dr. Nick chose to study for another year in Santa Barbara, CA at a residency program for Advanced Education in General Dentistry, where he learned more advanced dental techniques and procedures. Dr. Nick enjoys constantly learning more about dentistry and is happy to work with all ages, including younger patients, as he likes to educate on preventive care and creating a friendly, welcoming dental environment to keep the dental office a place of continuous health.

During his time at USC and since graduating, he has attended dental missions to help those in real need of dentistry. Prior to the pandemic, he attended an annual dental mission trips to Rosarito, Mexico and overseas with the Ayuda mission program. Through this partnership, he had the fortune to provide dental care in Thailand, India, and Panama. He enjoys using his bilingual (Spanish) skills frequently both at home and abroad.

I love all things Disney, Marvel, Harry Potter, board games, golf, frisbee golf, and I have lots of other interests! I have been known to sing and dance from time to time in the office, especially if it’s a soundtrack to Hamilton or a great Disney movie! While I know there’s a place and time to be serious, I like to bring fun where I can to keep things lighthearted and friendly.

Dr. Anna Gute graduated from the Rigas Stradins University in Latvia with her initial dental degree. During her dental career in Latvia, she mostly focused on special-needs patients and also served as a Professor’s Assistant in the department of Oral Pathology at Riga Stradins University. In 2016, she enrolled in the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at USC, a program for international dentists, where she gained valuable training that enabled her to practice in the United States. She specializes in treating complex cases involving oral surgery, restoring damaged or missing teeth with implants and cosmetic dentistry. One of her passions is to help patients who have orofacial myofunctional disorders with neuromodulators such as Botox or Xeomin. Dr. Gute is focused on improving one’s complete well-being and beauty.

Outside of work, Dr. Gute spends lots of time with her family of six, which includes her husband, mother, two sons, and their cat Masha, who was adopted from a shelter.

Being the wife of a local San Diego restaurant owner, they often explore new dining places in San Diego. Her family loves to spend time outdoors: going to the beach, hiking, riding bicycles and traveling.

Dr. Mark Martin is committed to affording the highest quality of treatment possible in dentistry. He goes above and beyond to connect with his patients as individuals, listening to their needs and concerns, and taking a genuine interest in their lives. Following a thorough exam, he will review his findings with you, carefully explain what treatment will be necessary to accomplish your goals, and address your dental needs. Dr. Martin is always available after hours for those unexpected dental emergencies. He hopes that each patient leaves feeling comfortable with the attention and treatment they received from himself and his team.

Dr. Martin has been practicing dentistry in his Escondido office since 1987. He did his undergraduate work at U.C. San Diego before going to Georgetown University Dental School in Washington, D.C. Dr. Martin graduated in the top 10 of his 1987 graduating class. After dental school, he was selected to participate in the General Practice Residency Program at U.S.C. / L.A County Hospital, where he learned more advanced dental surgeries and techniques.

Dr. Martin is one of only 149 actively practicing general dentists (out of over 20,000 general dentists) in the state of California to receive his Mastership from the Academy of General Dentistry. Less than one percent of the general practitioner population in California have ever achieved this goal. He is a member of the San Diego Dental Society, The California Dental Society, The American Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Martin chose to return to his hometown of Escondido in order to raise his family and create his dental practice.

In his spare time, Dr. Martin enjoys boating, fishing, woodworking, and photography. He has won several awards for his photos.

Dr. Natalia Finn is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. She obtained her Endodontic specialty training at the University of Southern California. Her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree was from the UCLA School of Dentistry. She is proud to be a commissioned officer in the US Army where she continues serving both our country and fellow man by participating in different missions to provide care for underserved populations. Even though she enjoyed many other disciplines within dentistry, her greatest passion is endodontics, and she believes that dentistry is more than just a profession, it is an art. Dr. Finn resides in Oceanside with her husband and two children. She enjoys participating in many outdoor activities including water sports, tennis, and our beautiful Southern California beaches.

Dr. Anna Hsu is a Certified Periodontist, specializing in dental implant placement and treatment of periodontal disease. She has been practicing dentistry for 10 years. Dr. Hsu received her undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley and her dental degree from the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF). After realizing her passion for periodontics, Dr. Hsu went back to the University of California at San Francisco to achieve her specialty certificate in Periodontics and a Master of Science degree. At the conclusion of her residency, Dr. Hsu was awarded the prestigious Robert L Merin leadership Award. This award distinguished her as California’s most outstanding Periodontal resident.

Dr. Hsu strives to provide the highest quality of care and has been described as honest, caring, and positive with all of her patients. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her son and husband, a pediatric dentist.
